LUXURY BALI

Below is the proposed program for the Bali trip. This is a luxury trip at an extremely affordable price! We guarantee this trip will spoil you silly! So give yourself the well deserved break and book the tickets to history, shopping and glowing skin! J

ITINERARY

Day One:

The first thing you will notice just before the plane touches the Denpasar Airport in Bali is the blue water and the island specks…and you will realize paradise is no myth! Be whisked away directly from the waiting immigration lines (don’t let the envious looks bother you!) to the waiting vehicle! While you sip your water/soft drink/wine and taste the exotic fruits, a scenic three hour drive will take you to the lovely area of Lovina (North Bali). Once you have comfortably settled down, the remainder of the day is free for you to unwind from the journey and indulge in your Balinese massage or simply drinks in the ocean view and plantation style surroundings from your mountain top, before settling down for a lovely organic dinner at candle-lit tables.

Day  Two:

We have an early start for a hike in the woods accompanied by the local villagers to discover a hidden waterfall and natural swimming pool surrounded by tall trees. Don’t forget to pack that swimsuit and remember not to miss the rich view of terraced rice paddy fields! After that trek, you will be starving! Eat at a local restaurant to taste authentic Balinese cuisine. Do not forget to try the simple yet tasty Nasi goreng – both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options are yum! After lunch, we will explore three ancient temples before heading back to the hotel for the night. You can either have dinner at Lovina or back in the hotel with its verdant green surroundings!

Day Three:

Set out for a dolphin sighting trip (weather permitting). The best time to see the dolphins is early morning. After a lovely breakfast, we will explore the local manuscript and comic museum before heading to discover the town and catch some shopping. Post lunch we will discover another delightful temple before ending the day with a visit to the centre for manufacturing musical instruments. Nearby are the cold water springs which the local believe cures all illness and the Temple of the Hollow stone.

Day Four:

After a hearty breakfast, we set off to visit the Tukit Saba National Forests. The more adventurous ones can snorkel while the others can laze on the island. This is a definite highlight of the trip! Lunch will be on the delightful picnic.  After exploring an old hilltop temple with breathtaking views, we will head to the resort for some rest and relaxation. Indulge in your Balinese massage and safari before treating yourself to an authentic Balinese cuisine. The night will be at the resort.

Day Five

After a lovely breakfast, we drive to Ubud. Today is relatively slow paced – to give you time to recover from all the excitement of the last few days! Upon reaching Ubud, we will have lunch. We will hit the town where you can choose among visiting the Neka Art Museum, foot reflexology (highly recommended!!), massages (you can book your complimentary massage at the hotel also! But there is a limit…so book soon!) and shopping. Come back to the hotel to relax and enjoy Balinese cake and tea. The evening will include the shadow puppet program at the hotel exclusively arranged for the Travelling Sisterhood! Explore the town at night and choose any cuisine you desire from the innumerable choices!

Day Six

Today we head to see one of the few active volcanoes in the world from a distance (hopefully clouds will not mar the view)! Post lunch (served at a hilltop restaurant overlooking the mountain), we proceed to one of the few Brahma temples in the world (again, you will be exercising those legs). After that it is back to our hotel for the evening cuppa. Pamper yourself with your complimentary massage if you haven’t already! For the evening, soak in the Balinese cultural dance before enjoying a quiet dinner or spending the evening in town exploring the shops!

Day Seven

Once we wrap up Breakfast, start the day with the cooking class. Post lunch, we will drive to Tanah Lot which is one of the most venerated temples in Bali.  Back to Ubud, we will have a charming barbeque dinner accompanied by 2 musicians rindik bamboo gambelan.

Day Eight

Today the elephant safari awaits where we guarantee a thrilling time! Post lunch at the Elephant camp, we head for a quick freshening up before we explore the Ceking village famous for the terrace rice field! Do not forget to sip the coconut water! For the evening, we will enjoy some retail therapy in the local markets of Ubud before catching our seats at the cultural program for the night. Rest of the evening is free for you!

Day Nine

We get an early start to head to Kuta where you can either get ready to take your beginner’s surfing class or a walk on the beach! Kuta is also known for its great shopping! Post lunch and check-in at a lovely hotel in Seminyak, we drive to Uluwatu to see the breathtaking cliff side of Pura Luhur Ulu Watu. We will soon settle down to watch the sunset and the quick beats of the Kecak dance held against the backdrop of the enchanting temple. Once back in Semiyak, you have the evening free to explore the pulsating nightlife (Ku De Ta is a definite hit!).

Day Ten

Today is free for you to finish any last minute shopping at Seminyak and packing. After fond farewells to the hotel staff, we proceed to the airport to head back home…till the next journeyJ

Experience the rich history along with Khmer culture and hospitality! We can assure you this trip will not only knock out a few kilos but send you home zenned and wiser!! So get ready to be templed out!! J

ITINERARY

Day One

When you land in Phnom Penh, the hustle bustle of the city does not leave you behind. No one will ever guess the atrocities the streets had witnessed barely twenty years ago. What greets you is the breathing of a growing city hungry to catch up with the rest of the world! Your First day begins in Phnom Penh. After checking into the hotel, we freshen up and get our taste of authentic Cambodian cuisine. Post lunch, we explore the Royal Palace and the Wat Phnom before settling down for an evening around town.

Day Two

We board the bus to Siem Reap. In this six hour journey, be assured of interesting sights including a rest stop where fried tarantulas are served as a snack option (a local delicacy)! Once we reach Siem Reap, check into your charming accommodations. After freshening up, remainder of the day is free for you to enjoy the town! Be sure to try the Khmer massage and the night markets!

Day Three

Get prepared to be templed out!  We get an early start to visit the largest temple in the world – Ankor Vat! After  which (depending on when we finish Ankor Wat), we visit Ankor Thom which will include the Bayon temple, Baphuon, Royal Palace, Terraces of Elephants and Leper King. We can see the sunset at Phnom Bakheng before retiring back to the hotel for the rest of the evening! We recommend you try the local Khmer massage for the perfect sleep at night (In fact we recommend this every night)!

Day Four

Be ready to exercise those muscles! We do the Grand tour (Preah Khan temple, Neak Pean temple, Tasom temple, and East Mebon temple) of the temples with sunset at Pre Rup before retiring for the remaining part of the day for dinner and sleep. If time permits, we suggest you try the foot reflexology! It is divine especially after the entire day of walking and climbing!

Day Five

Today we do a small but lovely hike through the woods to visit Kbal Spean to advmire the thousand lingams and centuries old stone carvings in the river bed. We then proceed to see Banteay Srei and Banteay Samre. Post Lunch, we visit the Roluos group. This is the last day of being templed out!

Day Six

We take a trip to the floating village with the afternoon spent in Siem Reap town where one can see the Central as well as Russian Market. For the evening, we will be attending the Apasara show and dinner before retiring for the night!

Day Seven

We are back in Phnom Penh after our bus journey from Siem Reap. Post lunch, we will visit the Toul Sleng Genocide museum and the Killing fields to get a glimpse of the horrific Cambodian past. Strongly interwoven to the Cambodian culture, it is a heavy walk through history. If you feel you may want to skip this, feel free to explore the markets and the famous Quay! We will then proceed to the river cruise for a lovely evening ride along with dinner.

Day Eight

Today is free for you to explore the lovely city of Phnom Penh! Check out the various markets (the silks, woodwork and the curios are gorgeous and cheap)! Bargain your heart out with a smile and walk away with some great deals! Once back in the hotel, you are free to explore the evening entertainment and night in town.

Day Nine

We say goodbye to this lively country....we hope Cambodia touched you the way it touched all of us here at the Travelling Sisterhood  with its simplicity, openness and warmth!
